На 6 объектах археологического памятника Афрасиаб нами обнаружены следы двух землетрясений X и XII вв., к которым относятся многочисленные разрывы и трещины, формирующие «цветковую» структуру, просадочный грабен, наклоны и развороты фрагментов крепостных стен. Судя по характеру деформаций, эпицентр землетрясения Х в. располагался к западу-юго-западу от древнего города, а эпицентр землетрясения XII в. — к югу-юго-западу от него. Интенсивность обоих событий составляла VIII–IX баллов по шкале МСК-64.
We jounded traces of 2 earthquakes of the 10th and 12th centuries were found at 6 objects of the Afrasiab archaeological site, which include numerous faults and fractures that form a “flower” structure, a subsidence graben, slopes and turns of fragments of fortress walls.
